Lauren Reynolds is a divorced woman and staying with her two sons – Brendan and Tyler. On one occasion she meets Jim Friedman who has lost his wife and has three daughters to take care of. The names of his daughters are – Hilary, Espn and Lou. They decide to give a shot for a blind date. Jim is a careless and clumsy guy where Lauren is a perfectionist and wants everything in place and order.

Their date goes haywire as per expectation of the audience. Lauren shares her date experience with her close friend Jen. Jen consoles Lauren that blind dates are sure to go that way and also asks who has arranged this date. Lauren tells that the date was arranged by a mother of her son’s friend. For the date Jen suggests Lauren to wear black colored dress. When she meets Jim she gets good compliments. Lauren gets somewhat emotional and remembers her ex-husband.
