At the center of this story are the real memories of midwife Jennifer Lee, which became the basis for a series of best-selling books by Jennifer Worth. In the 1950s, Jennifer arrived in the poorest district of London, settled in a convent called Nonnatus, and together with the nuns, she set out to solve the medical problems of East End. In the everyday lives of the midwives, patients, and their families, there are not only tragic, dramatic, and sometimes shocking moments, but also comedic ones. It is no coincidence that the amazing Miranda Hart also starred in the series. The TV drama has already received high praise from critics and skyrocketing ratings. All of this led the producers to extend the series after just two pilot episodes out of six were aired.
