In a small family there is a tragedy: while spouses have sex, their little son creeps out of a bed and drops out of a window. After death of the child the husband with the wife, tormented by sense of guilt, try to cope somehow with loss, but only in a nightmare into which their life turned more deeply. The History of madness consists of four heads, a prolog and an epilog. Chapter 1 – "Grief".
The wife is depressed and hardly remains in consciousness, and her mentality is injured so seriously that the husband, working as the psychotherapist, decides to undertake treatment independently. Having learned her biggest fear, the husband decides to try a shock therapy – to bring it to a country house "Eden" where she wrote work about murder of women.
In "Pain", chapter 2, the woman by means of the husband tries to overcome the fear, however it doesn't manage it, and strange events start occurring around. In heads "Despair" and "Three beggars" the nightmare of a family develops further and comes to the logical end.
