Sofie Hall – the journalist working in the New Yorker edition and dreaming to become sometime the writer. Victor, Sofie's groom, plans to open restaurant of Italian cuisine therefore they undertake romantic travel to Verona during which Victor wants to meet future suppliers in New York. Having plunged into a preparatory work, Victor almost doesn't pay to Sofie attention, and she spends time, walking across Verona and independently going sightseeing.
Once she notices "Juliette's house" – the building on which wall the women in love needing council attach the letters. Every evening the women working as "Juliette's secretaries" remove from a letter wall to read them and to give the answer to girls. Now Sofie found to herself occupation: she helps "Juliette's secretaries" to remove letters from a wall. Once the got lost letter which was written in 1957 by the young Englishwoman Claire falls of it into hands.
