In 1963, a competition arose between two American food companies, Kellogg's and Post Consumer Brands, in Michigan. Both companies were determined to be the first to introduce toaster pastries to the market and dominate the frozen breakfast industry. As a result of this rivalry, the iconic "Pop-Tarts" were created and quickly gained immense popularity throughout the United States.
