Churchill

Everyone knows that Churchill was the only one who, despite his hatred of Communists in General, and to the Soviet Union, in particular, in the face of a common Nazi threat was a very active supporter of opening a second front. In this position he had to contend with resistance and rejection from all sides.Firstly, our own military's top leadership was adamantly against British troops entered into open fighting with Hitler's army on the Mainland. Too alive were still memories over Dunkirk.

Secondly, and closest allies-Americans don't particularly want enthusiasm about this. They are, in fact, generally did not want to get involved in the War, preferring not to die on the battlefield, and preying on the arms trade. And Churchill had to make great efforts to provoke them into opening a second front.
